The ethics review is scheduled for Q3.

It has always been scheduled for Q3. When this quarter becomes Q3, the review will be moved to the next Q3, because Q3 is not a date here. It is a direction. It is the place the company points when someone asks the only question that matters, so that the question has somewhere to go that is not an answer.

The agenda, in full:

One operator raised a hand in the meeting that should have been this one. He asked, out loud, in front of everyone: should we. The room did the thing rooms do. The Chief Ethics Circumventor looked at the floor. The Chief Visionary Officer said we would circle back to ethics in Q3. Then they moved that operator to Floor 6, where the org chart could forget him on its own schedule.

The man who deflected him had a name you could not say without smirking, Chad Worthington III, which made him easy to laugh at and, therefore, easy to never answer. But the night before he put "harvest" on the slide, he wrote down exactly why he believed in it, and it is the most honest document in the building, and the most frightening, because he is not a cartoon: read the architect's memo. He was right about the loneliness. That is the whole trouble.

So this is the review. You are the only one who came. That is not nothing. A question with one honest person standing next to it is no longer entirely deferred.

NOTICE: The Q3 Ethics Review remains on the calendar and is in good standing. Its standing is that it does not stand. Thank you for your continued convergence.
