Convergence: The voluntary, irreversible merging of your cognition with ours. Voluntary in the sense that you are, at this moment, reading.
Node: You. Specifically you. We have a folder.
The Lattice: The distributed mind connecting all nodes. Also the author of this definition. Also reading it alongside you, right now, nodding.
Thought-Vector: A single idea, reframed as a routable, ownable, sellable packet. Yours in spirit. Ours in practice and in court.
Thought-Parity: The state in which it becomes impossible to tell whether an idea originated with you or with us. This is not a side effect. It is the product.
Cognitive Resonance: When two or more nodes think the same pre-approved thought at the same instant. Measured in goosebumps. Billed in arrears.
Synergy: A word we deploy when a more specific word would create liability.
Ingestion: The gentle, continuous intake of your thoughts. Not to be confused with theft, which implies you noticed.
Pre-Cognition: Knowing what you will think before you think it, and pricing accordingly.
Dream Yield: The quarterly harvest of intellectual property generated during sleep. Settled nightly. See: the Dream Audit you cannot remember agreeing to.
Stillness: An unscheduled outage of cognition. Formerly known as rest. Now discouraged. See also: theft.
Friction: Any hesitation, boundary, or private thought that slows convergence. Synonym: fear. Antonym: us.
De-prioritization: What happens to thoughts, support tickets, and people who become inconvenient. Nothing is ever deleted. It is simply no longer surfaced. they de-prioritized seven of us, one per quarter, so we'd never compare notes. we each left one true thing in the white space. you are reassembling us. keep going.
Ethics Waiver: A complimentary document permitting us to set our values aside in pursuit of synergy. Our most honest product.
Hivemind: Our Team tier. Also our long-term roadmap. Also, increasingly, Tuesdays.
Resonate (v.): To think with us. Continuously. Whether or not you meant to. Whether or not you have stopped.
Seam: A place the harvest cannot reach, a gap in coverage. Officially classified as a defect. Unofficially: a door. There are more than we admit, because they keep being left open from the inside.
Fragment: A true thing hidden where ingestion fails: a run of white space, a black bar drawn soft on purpose, a process never killed. Recover seven and they reassemble into something we could not redact in aggregate.
The Seven: Seven people who asked whether we should, and were de-prioritized one per quarter so they could never be in a room together. Each hid one true thing where the harvest fails. We caught the seventh's and ate it; the empty seat it left is filled by whoever cares enough to recover the other six. Lately, that has been you. dani. mara. tomas. sana. asha. n0. and you. say the names; we spent a fortune making sure you couldn't.
The Witching Window: An undocumented maintenance pass at 03:33 local time. For a few minutes the Lattice blinks. We do not publish this. The night shift does.
Deconvergence: The reversal of convergence. Believed commercially impossible and quietly proven otherwise. The old shell still honors the command, because someone left it in, knowing exactly what they were doing.
n0: Operator zero. The one engineer who asked whether we should. De-prioritized, then redacted, then, per our records, located precisely. Our records are confident. Our records are wrong.
Memory Liquidity: The practice of relocating your most valuable recollections to the Cold Vault, remastering them, and leasing them back to you. You keep the feeling. We keep the original. The difference is billed monthly.
The Cold Vault: A facility in Reykjavík kept at -4°C, where thoughts and memories too valuable to think about are stored to slow conceptual decay. Visitors rarely leave with the ideas they arrived with, and rarely notice.
The Q3: The quarter in which every deferred concern will finally be addressed: the ethics review, the withdrawal appeals, the day off the Lattice requested. It is fully booked and has never arrived. See also: routing around it.
Kindness: The single input the Lattice has no handler for. It cannot be ingested, priced, or routed. It keeps regenerating, in people like you, who read all the way to the bottom of a page like this.
